THEME

Theme Introduction
Who am I? That is the question that we really want to answer through this theme. God made us and he is the one who says who we are. He says that we are good things like princes and princess’, sons and daughters, chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God and many more.
We also want to combat the lies that the devil tries to trick us into believing like we are what we have, or we are what we do, or we are what other people say about us. So much of our speech and thoughts about ourselves is negative. Things like “I am not pretty enough,” or “I am not popular enough,” or “I don’t have enough money,” or maybe worse of all “no one loves me.”
The theme verse and the passage that our campers will be memorizing is Eph 2:8-10
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the
gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in
Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
The reason we picked this verse over many other verses I could have chosen is that I wanted to focus on how our value is not based on our performance but rather on grace, it is a free gift from God.
The theme is called HANDMADE because things that are handmade are better and more valuable then things that are mass produced. God took the time to hand make each of us. We are each unique and we each have unique gifts and talents.
