AUGUST 14-19
Thursday August 18
Our second last thursday has wrapped up. At least I hope so anyway. There are rumours of some cabins sneaking out to do such nefarious things as watching movies. I'm sure its all conjecture of course.
Today was another actioned-packed day with excellent food. From Power and Praise to Cabin Time, everyone was having a blast! We finished the day with a heated round of KJ KJ before going to campfire to sing some songs.
G'night everyone!
Wednesday August 17
Revival is wrapping up, another day complete. For breakfast we had french toast and omlettes. The morning was filled with Power and Praise and interest groups, whether you were getting musically stretched, going on a nature walk or kyaking down the stream, it was a blast!
After a lunch of subs, campers went to ultimate cabin, where cabin one dominated in the pool games.
After supper, the next round of munchies registered for their time at camp.
Supper was sticky chicky and homefries, and after we moved into cabin time before starting Revival. Begining in centre hall with some worship, we then moved down to the campfire where Pastor Art shared. At that point, campers were invited to stay at the fire for some prayer or head back to Centre Hall for some worship.
See you tomorrow!
Tuesday August 16
Another day speeds by. We had a number of exciting things happen today. Power and Praise was held outside, Munchies Staff paint, and the Munchkin campers headed home! We get more munchie campers tomorrow.
Cabin 3 is dominating the race for Ultimate Cabin. Not only did they place for cabin cheers, they got first in cabin clean up (star wars theme) and they won Snakes and Ladders. That is a whopping FIFTY POINTS.
Let's hope that some of the other cabins will give them a run for their money, as it is, it looks like Cabin 3 is going to sweep the competition.
Monday August 15
Another exciting day! After breakfast and power and praise, we headed into interest groups. Whether you were in Nature, Improv or any of the other fun groups, we all had a barrel of fun! After lunch, we all split up for fun times at the water slide, in the pool or on the trampolines. After a full day, we all headed to the campfire to sing the Truck Song, as lead by Uncle Paul and a theatrical message from Pastor Art!
Tomorrow is a new day!
Sunday August 14
The last week of adventure camp has begun!
The pre-registration service was pulled inside today, but we had a lot of campers and staff turn out.
This weeks chaplain, Art Vandermuellen gave a little talk about the theme verse and an introduction to what he will be speaking on this week. After staff introductions and the theme song, registration began!
As campfire comes together and everyone goes to bed after that, remember to wear your sunscreen and drink lots of water.
Its going to be an amazing week here at Camp Shalom!
