AUGUST 7-12
Friday August 12
The campers are gone, the staff are packing up, another week over!
In a amazing victory cabin 8 (and Uncle Josh) won ultimate cabin. Last night, Cabin 6 and Uncle Scott celebrated with an ice cream party, which they won by saying the memory verse first (They said it for their cheer on monday).
It was a great week!
Only two more weeks left of camp :(
Thursday August 11
Another day over. Everyone got up to the usual activities, like pool, waterslide, trampolines, power and praise and campfire however a little birdie told me that a lot of frogs somehow ended up in Cabin 1. No word yet on how the frogs got there and why they decided to make the dry environment their home, but we do know that there was a lot of screaming to be heard from that direction.
There are also reports of a dance party in Centre Hall and a movie being shown on the Guy-Zebo.
No confirmation as of yet but rumours continue to spread.
We do know that there was an AWESOME ICE CREAM PARTY in centre hall for a certain cabin that said their Bible verse first.
Another day over, and tomorrow all the campers head home...
Wednesday August 10
As revival winds down for the night, its time to reflect on the day. Starting with french toast (or pain grille du fraincaise) campers had a wild day from there. Although at first it seemed the rain might interupt our plans, campers continued on with Power and Praise and interest groups. The muchies were even fortunate enough to warrant a vist from the North Dumfries fire department. Campers (and some staff too) got to sit in the firetruck, turn on the siren and blow the horn.
After lunch, it was a full afternoon of swimming and games and waterslide. After supper, everyone moved into revival.
And now, its time for some rest. Another exciting day tomorrow!
Tuesday August 9
What a fun filled day we had!
Starting with eggs and bacon for breakfast, adventure campers had a slew of activities inside this morning due to the rain.
Power and Praise, lead into lunch and lunch lead into ultimate cabin. After tuck, campers went into free time.
After supper we had an intense game of snakes and ladders.
Munchies for the win!
Sunday August 7
Here we go again!
The Staff here at Camp Shalom are quaking with excitement for another week.
This week we have fifty two campers. This week's programs include adventure camp, trek, munchkins and Disc 101. After registration, all the campers went to their cabins to meet their counsellors and their cabinmates. Learning the rules and meeting the staff were next on the adgenda. To introduce themselves, the staff shared their fabourite food. Pad thai, chinese food, pizza, sour jube jubes and bacon were among the favourites.
After a hefty round of campfire songs it was time for bed to prepare for the next day.
